Default Meisterschaft axle back

I just had a Meisterschaft axle back installed and gosh, is it loud! It's so loud around 2k rpm that it causes rattles in the door panels.

Aside from that, I'm noticing a knocking sound emanating from the passenger side. I found that the rear pipe is extremely close to some cylinder object with a bolt. What is this thing? Is there anything I can do to eliminate this issue? Thanks!

Go to a shop and get that area heated up and hammer that area down to clear. It's a bit of a pain but the sound is worth it. Especially if you get headers and midpipe. I love my setup

Is this a common issue with Meisterschaft?

I just checked again, there is no spacing between that metal plate and the exhaust pipe. The knocking sound comes from when they temporarily separate when I drive over a bump and then touch again.

Like I said, just go to an exhaust shop and get that area of the pipe heated up and then dent it until it clears

Yeah, happened to me, basically you gotta take it to a muffler place (or mechanic that knows) and have them heat it up and dented a bit. But omg well worth it.

This is very disappointing. There shouldn't be fitment issues for an exhaust that costs this much.

Returned to the shop today in hopes to find a resolution. There weren't any easy fixes for this. No amount of repositioning the exhaust with the bolts loosened gave enough clearance for the exhaust pipe. The only solution is as suggested in this thread.

The installer even called GTHaus to ask for any suggestions. Their solution? Remove the pipe and clamp the section in a vice until there's enough clearance. This is completely unacceptable from any exhaust manufacturer, never mind one that charges a premium for theirs. I can say without a doubt that the Meisterschaft axle back for the ISF is not worth it.

Agree with the OP that heating it up and denting it should not be the solution for something that expensive. Fitment should be perfect at that price point. The good news is that it appears several people are willing to swap you exhausts, so you have some other options to consider. The JoeZ fits perfectly for what it's worth.

So happy I went with Joe Z, fit and finish are excellent and it doesn't rattle the door panels lol. Just perfectly judged sound.
