Question about noise absorbers
As we all know about the lexus that
they do much restrain of any kind of sounds by using a lot of sound absorbers.
When I sit in my friend's e92 m3 ( which is all stock )
I noticed that the engine sound came up into cabin a lot than I expected. ( I love that )
Our car lexus isf makes beautiful engine sound (like machinery sound) over 5K rpm during hard acceleration.
You can easily hear that high pitched revving sound especialy in driving very quiet place or at night.
So, I decide to remove some of noise absorbers ( not all ).
The removal of engine cover and absorbers attached in engine hood could not help me to hear more loud engine sound in cabin ( I guess )
In my opinion, It does make sounds little louder when I hear it outside of the car.
There must be a lot of noise absorber between engine room and cabin.
Do you guys anybody tried to do this?
Or any suggestions ?

I like how this OP thinks.. I presume any 'dampening' around the firewall would be more for water insulation..
If someone knows a safe way to let more engine noise into the cabin, then i'm game.

you guys should contact that one guy in australia that bought 2 F's, and gutted one to make it an all track purpose car. he probably ripped any and all sound deadening materials out the window and could probably provide some tips. forget his sn but the car had 'team bacchus' or something like that. car also sounds insane!

all Im going to say is that we all enjoy the luxury more than the sport. You cant get on it every second in traffic. Besides the M3 will only be louder when its not in the shop...... The F is loud enough all of the time. LOL

Although there is another sounds in the cabin. ( I think titanium catback exhaust and headers )
But in my personal opinion, F has rights to have this exotic engine sound not like all lexus's
In this clip, the sound it self, It's not a sort of effect by full exhaust, more by engine sound.
But, do I want very this sound? no.. too loud. Just want to hear true v8 engine sound
just like that you guys replace exhaust for the weak oem v8 exhaust system
Some might think that isf is luxury muscle car
Some might think that isf is sports car
Some might think that isf is a car for high speed crusing
There are lots of thought on isf
