My ML stereo in my 2011 is not nearly as good as my 08 I used to have. CDs in my 11 sound awesome but like most people now a CD is obsolete. SAT radio just sounds awful, have to turn it up to 50 just to hear it. Music thru my phone sounds ok but once again need to really crank it almost full blast to enjoy it. I just hate the inconsistency with it seeing as it is supposed to be a premium sound system. I have never listened to radio in M3 or a C63 so maybe they are the same quality as the F.

Agree with the above. I will just add the following we have a 2006 330xi with the Logic7 sound system that system blows the ML. Fm/xm/cd/BT all sound crisp/bass/clear on the Logic 7 with minimal cracking up. ML on the F is another story but oh well I guess we can't have everything in life I'll just step on the gas n listen to the secondary intake/joeZ exhaust lol

Something I've recently learned for this wonderful car is that when you press the trunk release button but forget you did that and start driving off, you don't have to stop in traffic and get out. Just keep driving for 2 minutes and the Alarm notification goes off and it automatically closes for you!

In the short time that I've had this ISF, the GROM bluetooth module has been the best mod that I've done as of yet. It's also the same unit I have in my daily driver

Syncs automatically every time, ability to skip songs via steering wheel, and quality is cd-like. Works great if you use your phone as a navi too since the stock navi obsolete nowadays as well.

I do agree that the ML system is rather lacking, but I'm coming from a car with a full system

I have to agree with this. I test drove mostly '08's before I bought my '12 and the ML's in the '08's sounded fine. I never checked out the ML in my '12 until I had already bought the car. I am quite disappointed. The Nakamichi in my '98 GS blows the ML away. The NAK has an incredibly rich full sound even at very low volumes. The ML need to be adjusted to the nth degree to get decently balanced sound and still you need to crank the volume way up to fill the cabin properly. At that point it just becomes really loud music like you get out of any mediocre car stereo. I wonder if a ML amp from the '08 would make a difference in the '12 or is the '11-'14 ML's redesigned altogether.

Mine is an 08' and I did notice that i had to crank the volume up when using the Aux jack. Its still sounds good to me, it could be better but its clear enough and sounds good enough. Being an 08' I do wish I had the Bluetooth streaming ability, but I understand why it doesnt. That may change later, its not high on the priority list right now.

ML works great for me.... you guys are crazy. I use my iPod plugged into aux... it's the perfect amt of bass that allows me to listen to my exhaust and music equally at the same time

I was SO disappointed coming from a 2007 IS 350 ML to the 2012 ISF ML. The 2012 ML sound system is JUNK, 2008-10 ML was good from what I have gathered. The speakers are too bright.. I had to remove the tweeters in the front doors and set treble to its lowest setting and even then it was OK and it's still a little too bright.. You must add an aftermarket subwoofer to get any decent bass.

I am speculating Lexus try to reduce weight by removing sound deadened, and had to use a lower power sub to prevent rattles. After adding a JL sub in the 2012 at 1/4 setting.. I have many rattles to fix.

Correct. Since you can't get a Lexus branded satellite receiver any more, it's a vestigial appendage.
