2008 IS-F w/ low miles or high mileage 2011 IS-F?
Which is the better choice given a budget of around $35,000?
I figure I could get a 2008 with 30-40k miles for this price or find a 2011 with 80k+ miles for a similar price. Which is the better choice?
I am worried about the rough ride I have read about on the 08-10 cars. For those who have driven both, how much smoother and compliant is the ride in a 2011 versus earlier versions?
I also like the 2011's revised instrument cluster. The LSD is nice, but this will be a daily driver that might see 1 HPDE a year. The biggest concern is reliability.
Thoughts?

Tough call, I have owned both an 08 and an 11 now. If it were me I would either wait on a lesser mile 11 to come down in price or increase my budget to $40k and get one with half the miles of the $35k 2011 ur looking at. Another bit of advice is if u can find a nicely modded car with an exhaust, headers, etc with a clean ownership I would advise to go that route. I bought mine stock and realized that these cars are so much better with exhaust and headers and those items are not cheap.

I would do the 2011, but beat the hell out of them on the price. Thats a lot of mileage . Hard decision. I think you will be happy either way

80k for an '11 is high up there in mileage. Sure, the F can handle it with ease, but that is still a lot of mileage in a short amount of time. The only upside would be that it's still covered under warranty if you needed to have anything replaced. I would haggle on price first and see where that gets you.

Low mileage for sure, who cares about the MY on the ISF unless there are essential differences that you are prioritizing (i.e. LSD, headlights, new gauges, etc). Mileage is the greatest indicator of usage on the vehicle. Just to offer an extreme example, would you rather have an 08 with 100 miles or 2011 with 100,000? Sitting pretty in a garage never hurt anyone

I would pick the car with the lower mileage if you plan on keeping this car for 3 years or more. If you think you might trade for something else within the next 3 years, get the newer car. I paid a premium price for my 2009 when I bought it a couple years back because it was basically brand new with only 13,500 miles.
