Default HPDE at VIR last weekend!

Well the IS F is just a blast to drive on the track... I was in an HPDE event at VIR last weekend, and basically "out of the box" the IS F was perfectly suited for track duties. The instructor I had was really pleasant to work with, and he was very impressed with the IS F... it was even cool that the navigation system actually showed the VIR course! Attached are a couple of pictures from the event. I added two small high quality metal (but inexpensive) badges to the engine room (5.0L V8) - what do you think? I wanted them to be informative - you get a lot of "what engine is in there" but I wanted something tasteful (and discrete/OEM-like) at the same time.

Going in for my 1,000 mile check up appt with the dealer this week, will also get the new Lexus SmartCard programmed and the blank key cut as well.

Regards,
- Kirk

Good to see another Lexus at VIR. I've done it a few times in mine. It's a blast. I had to upgrade to a dedicated track car instead of beating up on the F.

Hey BigCloud - looking good - there were A LOT of BMWs up there this weekend - my instructor had a fully prepped (1989) BMW M3 that was very fast - he won the ITE class category last year using it. I went in his car (passenger) on some very fast laps.

VIR is a really fun track - the elevation changes and the dramatic turns and twisties are so much fun.

very cool ! I am looking forward to my next track day next month. It will be my third track day in 9 months. Not bad for a dude who used to roll in an LS460 on 22" wheels
