Default OEM Potenza tires

I had two new Bridgestone Potenzas put on today, and the very knowledgeable guy at the tire service said that the OEM Potenzas are so soft and sticky, they are considered a racing tire.
I have new Potenzas by accident, I had a blowout on the highway and had to buy a tire from the nearest Lexus dealer, then I had to match that Potenza with three more. They only last about 25,000 miles, but they surely stick.

I got 30k out of my rear RE050As including two full track weekends. I would not call them a racing tire at all. Ask the original NSX owners about tire life - 8k was considered exceptional. Those were some really soft tires.

Also, the tires on the Viper ACR were thinly disguised Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. Those are unquestionably considered racing tires.

I definitely would never call the RE050A a racing tire. The RE-11 is a much grippier tire, and they aren't quite as nice as a "DOT legal" racing tire.
