My friend Bret had this same problem and Lexus of Tampa found a way around it with no issues during his header install. PM him at MYISF, I think he is still active but he traded his car in for a Porsche.

I have the same problem. My tech at Lexus tried to file it down but to no avail. Sikky will replace the side affected but I just don't have the time and patience to have it pulled out, sent to Sikky and then installed back in. I will just sell or trade in my car with it.

Does it cause a rattling sound when you drive and get on it?

I see this flaw overtime the bolt will grind a small hole into the header, hopefully this issue will be fixed? I'm still saving for a Sikky setup too )))

Lots of us have this issue. The general sentiment is that the bolt is unnecessary to hold the shield in place, and you can have it removed. Problem is, removing it by normal method requires dropping the engine, which is a multi-hour job. I'm going to have it removed when I get my motor mounts replaced.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you don't need that heat shield there

can this install be done at home with decent tools...no lift etc? Moderate knowledge of cars. Or a lift is definately needed?

When you feel the rattle turning do any of you guys feel it in the steering wheel. Like does it feel like the steering linkage is rubbing on anything?
