I bought an Hps intake, i know i probably won't feel a 5% increase but the company (all those companies) claims its better than the "ribbed" oem intake for better flow. I just feel it was a waste of $.

Its not going to add anything significant. Its more resonance tuning. imho it is a waste of money, but to each his own. The temperature fluctuation from one month to a cooler month will create more change in HP than that intake

I have the K&N. Other than sound it adds nothing, some claim that you'll actually lose power. Truly a waste of $$. Well...I'm more or less stuck with it so I leave it in.

what exactly were you expecting when you purchased it? looks? piece of mind that your car is 'breathing' better?

Minimal gains, but not loss.

My CPO ISF had a K&N on it when I got it from the dealership. Wish I had the original to compare to. My guess is I'd be in perfect agreement. However, my car sounds like a dragon when I open it up. I'm thrilled with the sound.

You're not excited because you didn't read the 1230982130921 threads on CL that state that the air intake on the ISF is almost purely for looks with the exception of a few, which provide good sound.

i actually like the factory air box with the intake tube only. That way you keep the secondary intake sound. When you replace the whole box you dont have that and that was one of the things I enjoyed about the F was hearign the secondary intake open at 3600rpm
