ISF Engine sound at 4k RPM

Default ISF Engine sound at 4k RPM
Hello fellow ClubLexus members, I recently purchased a 08 ISF and I finally got to take it to a canyon road yesterday and enjoy the power handling. I noticed around 4k RPM with slight heavy throttle, the car makes a very deep grunty V8 sound, I was wondering what makes this sound? and why does it not happen under 4k RPM. Thanks for the input!

It's the secondary air intake that open at 3600rpm

I found it to be slightly louder than OEM, a little bit more of a growl. As for power wise, no significant increase, if any that you can feel.

When you add exhaust and headers the growl turns into a ROAR! Love my PPE/Borla combo.
