Angry Front Tow Hook Cover Obsidian

Anyone know where I can find a Front Tow Hook Cover (color 212 Obsidian). I have no idea how mine came off.

I look at Sewell (Parts: 5212953903C1). Sewell wants about $100 with shipping (to Canada) for a damn small piece of plastic. I checked ebay, everyone seems to have a "rear" but not front.

Thanks

I bought mine from Sewell since it was the cheapest I could find painted when I was trying to find one. It was $55 with the Club Lexus member discount (ridiculous for a small piece like this) and I was ordering a new bumper at the time so shipping was nothing for it.

When I was looking for one I found it on a few non-Lexus dealership websites and the cover was around $10 but they needed to be painted as they were just a matte black color. You could order from one of those sites and then get it painted. It may be cheaper than Sewell even getting painted depending on the shipping fees the company has to Canada.

I wish I kept my old bumper, I would have just sent it to you for free and all you would need to do is get it painted since my F is USB. I just replaced it a couple weeks ago too.

Good luck.

I purchased mine locally at the Lexus dealership. $12 USD, but it came primered. I asked if the dealer could just toss it in with the batch of Obsidian paint work they needed to get done, and they were more than willing to do so, especially for such a small piece.

Some have said that thieves just start lifting these items off the front bumpers because then they know they can tow the car if needed. I've had it happen once, right before a wedding, and while I would prefer not to think of that scenario, it can make sense. I know some guys over in the Bimmer forums have had the same issue with their rear tow hook covers, and some were indeed stolen- the car, not just a cover.

Another option is that if you use a pressurized car wash, it can generate enough force to actually knock it out. I never considered this as an option for when I lost mine because the car is always washed by hand and only by me.

Best of luck!

LOL wow..i just lost mine as well this past weekend. I found out the inner tab that holds the cover onto the bumper is broken. I'm going to try to super glue or tap the tab so hopefully it holds. God I hope it doesnt fall off again since its such a waste of money to have to replace these things :/
