Thats 18lbs buddy !! Unless you are getting the info elsewhere , the math is correct.

In case anyone wants to check the numbers

Bridgestone RE050A

Michelin PSS

I'm quoting stock for stock.. 225/40 and 255/35

I wouldn't quote a larger size tire because they will always be heaver than stock sized tires.

It was quoted for stock size 225/40/19 and 255/35/19 . It is an 18 lb reduction You may have been looking at a different size What is your source. Im looking at Tire racks numbers. Are you looking at the manufacturer ? They should be the same

such a bonus that the tires are relatively lighter than most.

it looks like they make the tire in 275/35/19 now, wonder if anyone has tried that size, curious how it looks at stock height.

it has ben tried. A member with a blue one did it. In fact when I called tire rack about the tires they said they never recommend the 275/30. The recommend the 275/35.......seemed weird to me .

heres a link . Post #24 has the pic

Not on stock wheels but I'm on 245/40 and 275/35 PSS, loving the setup vs my 2 sets of heavy S04

I had a blowout on a long trip and had to buy a new Conti from the nearest Lexus dealer. That commits me to Contis for the next set.

You can always donate that Conti to the tire Gods when you need to change the other three.Plus you dont want 1 old and 3 new tires. I had 2 new RE050As in the front. They were mounted 6 months ago in February and I beat the hell out of them on the track and donated them to the trash last week when I got my PSS with probably 80% tread life .

there is a reason why PSS is stock on many supercars. M3/M4/RCF have PSS as factory tires also

I have my set of PSS broken in enough to give initial feedback. GREAT tire so far. I replaced my RE050As when the rears had about 4/32nd and the fronts had plenty of tread, so this is not a spent tire vs. new tire comparison. I also upsized to 245/35 and 275/30.

First impression was that this is a shockingly more compliant tire than the RE050A, even with the shorter sidewall that I switched to. The brittle/skittish ride quality that I always found a little disappointing in the IS-F is pretty much gone. The PSS is also quieter than the Bridgestones, though not dramatically so.

Grip is better, though I haven't driven the PSS very hard. The car drives more solidly and is more communicative about how much traction it has. Cornering has neutraled out a little with the wider front tires.

Overall, I'd say the improvement to the car is nearly as big as when I put on BC coilovers. Very happy.

The reviews of the PSS are all excellent And, if they came in the 245/35/19 - 285/30/19 combo, which they don't, they would be on my F. But the SO4 also have good reviews, not quite as good as the PSS, but they usually run a close second and they do come in the 245/285 combo. As I've posted in earlier threads, I'm happy with my choice. Handling is much improved over my previous Continental DW in the 245/285 combo and the stock PS2s in stock sizes.

Lou, did the manager or a tech at discount tire mention anything about not being able to warranty the 285 rears because the rim was too narrow. Thanks buddy
