These are the truth! - Unlock that grip
I just swapped out my tires for these Michelin Super sports and all I am saying is ....YES they cost a bit more but DAMN!!!! they are like rubber claws!
I'm not saying they are the best I am just saying that you need a set on your F
none of that...just grip!

Another satisfied customer with the Michelin PSS. You're absolutely right. For a great street tire and the occasional autocross day/canyon carving, these tires are hard to beat. Priced just under the PS2/PS3, but they do perform greatly. What sizes did you end up getting?

LOL I just got mine today AND I AM SO STINKING HAPPY !!!!! These tires look so good and ride so well. The grip is going to be on another level relative to the RE050A. I took it easy on the way home. Just the way they loom should be worth the switch. They are so fat and square . They fill the fender out a little better.

I went with the oem size. I was dying to upsize but didnt want the 275/30 and the discount tire I went to said they would not warranty my tires for the rears if I went with a 285/30 because it was too wide for the wheel. I am very happy so far and I can always move to the extreme performance class ( RE11 or Yokohama AD08) in oem or upsize in the future if I need more grip.
To me that 225 in the front looks like it could be a 245 ( or at least a 235).
Compare that to the bridgestone REO50A in the photo
Bottom line guys.....if you are rolling on a set of these ( oem size or upsize ) you will be very very happy ( at least on the street ). I am going to hit the track with these in October and I will do a write up on them for the track feel and performance. I plan to clock my best lap time with the PSS and compare them to the recorded time from my last 2 sessions at Wild Horse pass. It will be cool to see what the difference will be considering it is the only modification made to the car. I just want to see if I can roll the power on mid corner as I exit a turn. With the RE050As I was literally waiting until the very end of the corner exit before i hit the gas. If I didnt the TCS system would kick in. The RE050As were pushed so to the limit of adhesion that the balance of the car actually felt better if I turned off sport mode/ The deadened throttle response made it easier to power out of the turn without intrusion of the TCS system. I will try to do it next time with no TCS on ....just dont want to spin the car. Last HPDE 2 sessions I did at Wild Horse Pass I saw 2 Vettes, and S2K, and 2 Miatas all spin off the track and end up in the dirt. LOL last time , I was coming out of the longest and fastest turn on our track and the car was literally 4 wheel drifting for about 10 feet before the car got its footing.

Your expectations are too high. The Bridgestones are very good tires. PSS are also very good tires. There isn't a night and day difference on the track. The IS-F is a heavy sedan. It's going to slide around a lot on the OEM tire sizes no matter what they are if they're street legal. As much as people here like to bash the RE050, it's a good track tire because it has good grip (until it gets too hot - but they ALL get too hot), and it's very predictable.
Tire Rack's testing, while very helpful, doesn't tell the whole story - you can throw a blanket over the times on any of the class leaders and the biggest difference is driver, not rubber.
I have PSS on my car. They're great tires, but they're not dramatically better than the RE050s made specifically for the F.
What you are experiencing is new tires vs. worn out tires. That's always a win.

I'm also making the switch to the PSS, in 245/275. I'm hoping the extra width and better compound will be a solid improvement over the tiny OE Bridgestones. TireRack has a great price on these right now, $1094 + minimal shipping charge.
