see what I mean.

My F is bone stock minus rear F sport sway bar and there is no slipping or spinning of the wheels if I launch the car from a stop unless its on that smooth black top material you find at malls and huge lots, and even then the TCS light never comes on . I just can tell the rears are rotating faster than what the pull feels like . Not sure if exhaust mods create enough added low end torque to cause this. My car hooks up fine and did even with the REO50A. The only problem I had was exiting corners on the track really hard and early during two sessions that were 100+ degrees. Once the rear bar went on it pretty much solved the understeer issue at the track. Add totally worn rears, high track and ambient temps, and narrower tires and you're going to get that stupid little yellow nanny flashing at you.

Mine is stock, except for muffler delete (as far as I can tell) and there's NO way I could mash the throttle off the line without smokin' the rears. Even if I shift at redline it still spins into 2nd until I let off the throttle IIRC.

Plus I still have the 285/30/20 which is more mass...so no problem!

Can you post it for forum record. I have looked high and low for pics and Im sure it will only hrlp a member here in the future. Thanks for your help buddy

I would agree and Im not saying that because I have oem sizes. I think they did the best they could with what they had back in 2006-2007 when developing the car. The PSS came out in 2011. Pretty sure engineers would have used the PSS if it was available. I think its going on the RCF. I did a ton of research on the real effects of unsprung mass on steering feel, suspension dynamics , and even wear on suspension and even though it all seems like splitting hairs it all adds up. Going from the RE050A to the PSS reduced unsprung mass by 18 lbs !!!! AND we still have another class of tire to go to. The Extreme performance tire category has the RE11 available and they come in the oem size and the upsized 245/275 combo. I was going to do the RE11 at oem size but when I saw the PSS on RedlineAZs car I was sold. The added grip and the better looks is a mod in itself
ah yeah man, very good points. i can't wait to try out a set of pss's myself, car came with these nitto tires that i can't seem to wear out!

lexus didnt stick with 225/255 for the RCF tires, they went to 255/275. That is a big increase and putting PSS as the OEM tire

Sounds like your tires aren't up to the job. My car puts all the power down to the ground. Its only on the track as I exit a turn if I mash the gas mid corner, that she spins the tires.

Honestly my front RE050As were brand new ( the dealer put them on in February when I bought it) and I donated them to the trash. Life is too short to not enjoy this car. In the end if you dot buy replacement certs for the tires you can get a set for less than 1200 for a set out the door with mount, balance, and disposal. I paid $1187.40 out the door. I know it sounds funny but these tires just look so good. They are square relative to the Bridgestones and seem wider at the same size. They ride smoother, the steering feels lighter, and theres is definitly a bump in rear grip. Need to add more miles to really tell the difference .

When you are right , you are right, BUT the RCF also weighs in at about 200 lbs more than the ISF.I think a 255/275 or 255/285 combo would be ideal, but we have to work with what we got or go to after market wheels and tires.

ok so here is my experience with traction off of the line. my F is stone stock, I have the stock 255 size with Bridgestones (not sure of the series). A little background on me, I also have a 9 second Mustang, streetcar. The Mustang will annihilate the tires at will, any tire. I have to "drive it" to get it to come out of the hole on the street. Now that being said I have zero issues getting the IS-F to hook anywhere. IDK if its me just naturally controlling the tire spin with the throttle but My F launches pretty hard on the street and 1/4 mile track. I can and have annihilated the IS-F's tires out of the hole and out of a corner just for fun.

My Mustang the old "beater" coupe dubbed Rusty 5.0 (skip to 2:23 to avoid all the staging boringness)

Look how much better they look than the Bridgestones. They are more squared off and look wider
