I bet you miss the exhaust note! I went and rebought back my IS-F the next week. Then I gave it to my folks. Now my 71 year old father drives it around and I take it back in the winters as my winter DD when they go down to Florida to golf.

Congrats on your new car, I agree with what some members said earlier... 997 + air cooled 993 are the most beautiful Porsche built.

Congrats on the purchase! I'm not sure how many miles you have on the 997, but double check the coolant hoses. They are glued in, so there's a chance that they might pop out after many heat cycles (especially in track conditions) and as the vehicle ages. You can either have them welded or pinned. I did the latter on my GT3. There're a ton of info on that issue on rennlist forums.

Other than that, it's a solid car. Enjoy the car.

Two completely different sounds at two different points...the 997 is rather quiet down low but get it up in RPM's and everyone knows your there and it has that raspy (LOVE IT) sound...but I will admit that the ISF was one fo the best sounding V8's I ever heard...especially with I/H/E

You know it...not 100% sure yet but definietly exhaust, intake and wheels. Starting to learn the Porsche way and how things work.

They were very understanding as my good friend is the GM and I still own two Lexus so he is fine.

Thanks for the heads up man and yes I am "all over" Rennlist trying to learn as much as I can...I will mention this to the dealer as I need to go pick up my second key today or tomorrow...

Oh you did not go there! Figures you would...I bet you want to race me on the track also...LMAO

As you know performance numbers jump around and all I know is with the AWD this thing handles like it is on rails and launches unlike anything I have ever driven...here are the performance numbers I have found:

HP = 385
Top Speed = 185
0-60 = (per the 0-60 website...and my car has PDK)

A big Congrats to you man! The 911 has always been one of my dream cars, and I've window shopped for one for over a decade. Love the color too. Fantastic choice.

Too bad I still need real back seats.

Aww man why not the Turbo or GT3? Either way congrats on the upgrade. An upgrade for sure, it is faster than the F. Any mods planned?

Hey man yeah "I wish" a Turbo or GT3 but the 911 Carrera 4S gets the Turbo body (wide rear fenders) so it looks mean and is the fastest in the 911 line after those two...but maybe next time???

Actually the dealership where I bought my 997 has a Motorsports division that sells and delivers any mods you want to do to your Porsche...they have an awesome shop right there at the back of the dealership...they also promote and sponsor track days at Sebring for the loacl PCA regions. Anyway I got talking to a guy that works there and I think my first mod is an IPE exhaust (has a valve system that opens for more power and sound)...check out this video (tunr up your volume)...
