Well I'm happy to say that after talking with a guy through email a 1 piece shaft will be approximately $1400.00, not sure if it includes shipping. I just need to measure the length from 3 bolt flange on diff to the 3 bolt flange on the transmission and they will produce a product. Maybe we can throw a group buy or something? Any help from mods on coordinating this on the forum would be rad, I've only been a purchaser in a group buy on a different forum long ago. -justin

I sent a query to the Driveshaft Shop and just received the following reply:

all i need is the dimension from one, just to be clear it will not be much lighter but what you will notice is allot
you see cars with Guibo's and a hanger have allot of movement before the car moves. when you step on the gas
the front Guibo twists, then the torque moves down the 1st shaft and then the hanger bearing rubber moves up
about .600 to .700 then down the back shaft to the back Guibo and more twist. only after all of this will the car move
with the Carbon shaft (or aluminum) there will be direct movement, the car will feel more athletic or connected to
the gas pedal. its a very noticeable thing.

So how do we get this thing rolling? Anybody have a driveshaft they can spare

I'm looking for the post for a guy selling one in the classifieds. Otherwise I'll measure mine which may be a few days.

I think I've told a dozen people now that I have a stock ISF driveshaft for sale.

Just make sure Frank knows the Isf shaft is about 2" shorter in length than the is350. We talked in length about doing one but I went with a is350 one instead.

Ok so you measured it and it's 2" shorter than the 350 shaft? Correct?

You realize these are 2 piece stock shafts? I have no way to account for the joint length that pulls in and out. I can get an overall length this weekend when I'm home but DSS may still require a shaft be sent in so there's no guess work. They run a tough r&d process !

Spoke some more today, I'll be likely just measuring mine on the car so I get more exact measurements do to variances that can't be taken account for while one is removed. These will take about 3 weeks for the initial r&d and then I cannot tell you how long it would be. I managed to scrape up last min $ to do this and basically has came down for needing the length dimension. I'll post more as it comes along.

I've used denny's and PST driveshafts on my other cars. Cant go wrong with aluminum, less to worry about. I've heard of destruction with a CF driveshaft being nicked.

I've heard the same, but with the oem heat shielding it should be fine it's pretty well covered. I currently have a pst carbon on my 91 supra and I can not say enough good things about it.

RE your PM. All flanges are the same and shared by both the Isf and is350 rwd stock driveshafts. I had these pics from a while back.
