Stupid Question Amnesty here: Are there any that provide more power but don't harm the engine?

TIA!
I've never seen the correct heat range spark plug make a power difference in a properly tuned engine ever. OEM is best for our application.

Agree.

I had the plugs done yesterday at the dealer, among other items.

I asked the serv. advisor to tell the tech to place my 8 old denso plugs in the lil plastic container I placed in trunk. Tech placed each old denso plug inside the new boxes that held the new plugs along with the plastic sleeve over the threads ( box had the part # too).

This gave me peace of mind that the job was actually done - obviously it is rare that one would get so blatantly taken at a lexus dealer - but you never know. Obviously not a 100% assurance but it's better than nothing. I stopped short of asking for a smart phone pic midway thru the plug replacement.

Btw, the serv. rep was a car guy and my request did not faze him in the least. He has asked for his old oil filter on his muscle car

Two more questions:
1. What are the OEM plugs? Is it a particular brand/type?
2. Can you tell the difference b/t a new plug and one with 60k miles on it?

Hi,
I got mine done finally at Magnussen's Lexus. Each plug cost 21$ It was 483$ with labor. Since it is once every 4 years not that bad. If you do it yourself, you can save 200$ may be but will spend good 4 hours.

4 hours? That's half a valve lash inspection and a beer run.

Jesus, I got the plugs for about 13 bucks each from Sewell, Labor was about 1 hr at my buddy's shop. Dealerships are making a killing off these kind of services!!

not quite like that, if you choose the long life Denso plugs it will be.
I never run the plugs over 100k miles even it is a long life ones, i will change it right 60k - 65k miles
I'm currently using Denso IKH20 ( not recommended for our car) for my F because i like IK series plugs , my butt feels smoother than OEM and i never feel the engine shaking sometime at the red light.

Advance Auto Parts periodically (seems like every couple of weeks to every month) runs a $50 off $125... they list at $15.99 x 8 = $127.92 - 50 = $77.92. You get free shipping for orders over $75 which breaks that mark. So $77.92 + $6.43 (TX tax @ 8.25%) = $84.35 / 8 plugs = $10.54/plug which saves about $12 total from the ebay price that someone mentioned before (you can think that equates to about a free plug was saved)...

I'll post up a code when the code is available again... it was available about 1 week ago...
