IS F (2008-2014) Discussion topics related to the IS F model

Does RC-F offer enough benefit over the IS-F to justify jumping into it?

The IS-F cuts throttle when you left foot brake at speed? I never took mine in for the gas pedal fix (or maybe im confused and thinking it was my wifes 4runner)

I'm curious as well. I haven't had the chance to take the F on track yet

1)less than 4 seconds 0-60
2)minimum 480 crank HPS
3) faster on the track than the 2012 IS-F by a minimum of 9 to 10 seconds. They say the M4 is faster than the M3 by 10 seconds on Nurburgring.
4) Less than 77 K price tag.

If the RCF is all these, then am 100% sold. 3 of 4 on anyone of these, I am 75% sure...etc..
You know car makers are always smarter than us, they gonna sell us cars with these numbers that you asked for under 77k, keep dreaming my buddy.

I bought my ISF in September of 2013...then all the hype about the RCF started...my wife and I discussed it and came to this conclusion...

If I wait and trade my ISF for a RCF then yes I will have a two door (GT) and it will have more HP than a stock ISF (but ISF is 188lbs lighter) and some cooler gauges and interior stuff BUT then depending on what the price is when they come out (believe me I have read and heard all the speculations) I probably would not want to spend the funds to mod it as then I would have $80K - $90K in the RCF. A lot of cars out there I could have for that much money.

SO we decided to keep Matador (the ISF) and have a lot of fun modding it (see sig) and will only have about $55K - $60K in it when done...and it may be faster than an RCF??? Guess we will have to wait and see about that...

^^
Pretty much my thoughts. If I do ever get an RCF it will probably be a used 2017 model that I get in 2019. But so much can happen between now and then and my tastes may change as well. For now, I'm more than happy to stick with the IS-F.

When the IS F first came out, the salesman that sold me the IS 350 called & offered an overnight test drive. I kept the IS F for ~24 hours! Now that's direct marketing.

Being engineering minded and somewhat pessimistic toward such switch as most have you have kept the questions quite relevant, so I will add my thoughts:
1.) I need 4 doors (thus my choices become limited based upon such decisions to switch)
2.) IMO I do like the car but my biggest gripe is im not a track or racer, thus for an everyday drive its 0-60 times 0-100 times, handling of-coarse im not saying that doesnt matter but I would end up lowering it to no end but remaining street-able. Thus, unfortunately RCF "feels" like disappointment !unless! 0-60 times are much much stronger closer to the 4 sec. range making it competitive and to be faster than my isf.
3.) 70-80 K plus more can buy my the Panamera Turbo which was incredible to drive and I am very fond of since I have 2 boys. I have test drove and meets all my needs and requirements. So, its would be a hard pull to go to pretty much a two doors RCF, but honestly men I dont think Lexus made the RCF for us needing a 4 door. Bc they are honestly for practical reasons "not the same" class. 2-door vs 4-door we must be honest with ourselves in respect to the practicality stand point.
4.) From an investment point of view, 70-80K would equal 140-160K at least in my 401K bc of 100% matching thus not to excited or in any quick notion to splurge I am very happy and pleased with my paid off ISF lol.. But I will live through the experiences of those whom do attain the RCF which im sure will be awesome.

Default Ok..

RCF is for the is250/350 or is250c is350c owners
I don't really think most of isf owners will buy rcf
Since we know the max ouput of our isf...
Really when u get rcf pay all that money and mostly u r not gonna have any mod maybe intake that do nothing ... Rcf no go
As long a toyota ecu being a A-hole for usdm this thing is hopeless fancy heavy coupe
I would personally own since i got isf i have more interest in tuning a nx f sports turbo
