Default Toyo Proxes T1 Sport tires

I am getting ready to make a decision about after market wheels for Matador (see sig) and my wheel guy is steering me toward the Toyo T1 Sport tire even though he openly admits the PSS is a better tire but for the configuration I am going with the Toyo tires will save me $600...

So I would like fellow CL ISF owners to let me know if they have any experience with the Toyo T1 Sport tires good or bad...thanks.

PS I am currently running PSS (stock sizes) on the stock wheels and love them!

Lol! As useful as a chocolate spoon fella. How do people find them?

personally I've tried Toyo proxes

Good price, but after 1 month of ownership I hated them.

Road noise was horrible and handling was even worse.

Dunno how the T1Rs are compared to the proxes.

Thanks...my wheel guy did say that they have some type of 30 day / 150 miles warranty and if for any reason u do not like them you can return them and you get all your money back but $100...not a bad deal but wonder why they feel they need to do that...I didn't get any deal like that on my PSS...

Tires...like anything else... You get what you pay for. Personally if you have an isf...you need to treat it like an isf...by getting the best you can for it.

I have gone with "cheap" tires on the ISF before and they were not worth it in the end. Main difference between tires that cost 30-40% less than a performance tire is construction. With the weight and power of the ISF, definitely need a robust XL rated tire. I don't know how the Hankook Ventus V12's or Kumho SPT are rated at XL, tire squirm is evident everywhere and can feel the sidewalls go soft on even moderate cornering levels.

Go with the PSS, they are not that much more than the other "cheaper" tires and the performance is a large difference.

I can attest to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports - have a brand new set on my Supra and I love them. I have a set of Michelin All Season 3 (AS3) tires (newly released in July'13) on my Audi A4 - and I love those too... I hated the first two sets of Pirelli P-Zero Rosso AO tires the A4 came with... awesome handling but horrible road noise after only ~10K miles. I go with Michelin whenever I can. I hope my 2014 IS F comes with Pilot Super Sports... if it doesn't, that is what I plan to have installed the first time I need some new rubber.

T1R's are probably one of my favorite tires...especially for lowered car. For some reason, the inners don't wear as fast as other tires I've run. Great in dry and pretty good in wet conditions too

I'm using the T1Sports on my GT-R. No problems? I think they would work fine.

I had them on my G35 back in the day and they SUCK. Too much tread flex because of the design of the tread. I think I actually told discount tire to take them off and went with a Michelin

Michelins PSS are exceptional tires. I have them on the F currently and they are fantastic,
the best choice IMO.
Goodyear Assymetric 2 is probably better choice if you want to save some $$$.
I had them before, excellent tire, very similar to PSS.

^ My PSS are arriving next week, can't wait.

Out of all tires I've tried the Michelins Pilot Sports in general are the best.

I just picked up RE-11's at a steal of a price! heavy tire but nothing but great reviews across many platforms.

Bridgestone S04 if you want to save some money and still ride on good tires
