Moving/shipping ISF to Germany
#18
I lived on the economy when I left in 06. Those Germans are going to offer you cash on the spot for your car in amounts that are going to be hard to resist. I got an obscene amount for my moderately modified 300zx (450hp) not for rarity, but more for the mods and bought a low mileage e39 m5. Converted it and shipped it back no problems. Got to Texas to register it and had to come up with taxes since the car had never been registered in the states. Add up the cost of conversion and taxes I ended up paying the average price of one already stateside. So put some thought into what ship back, and what its really going to cost you...

I received my car about a month ago and I am glad that I shipped it! My drive home is about 12 miles of which 10 has no speed limits!! On average I can drive 100mph to keep up with the faster moving traffic and hit 120-140 when the road is clear.
I drove up to Nurburgring a few weeks back averaging 100-120 most of way and in certain areas getting upwards to 140-150 and would still get passed by Germans, LOL. It was Green Hell Week, however, the fog was so bad no one was allowed on the track.

This is an easy one. Ship your ISF there, enjoy it in ways you can't enjoy it here in the States (autobahn, ring, etc) then sell it there before you move back for more than you could sell it for here. Take the profit you get to buy something newer that is out then and you've got the best of both worlds.
Or buy a Porsche.

Nope my rotors are still in a box in the basement, lol. I am waiting until next spring/summer when I get new wheels as well.
Well no offers yet but if an opportunity presents its self I would love to pickup something no available in the states. I have been thinking about a Porsche for some time so we shall see.

I'm at Ramstein and so far we love it. The people are friendly, food is great, and driving in Europe is awesome. I would have been really bummed if I left or sold before I left the states. Now when I get I back driving is going to be a problem, lol.

That's awesome that you guys are enjoying it! Ramstein is a great base as well, I assume you are Air Force. I'm army and us army guys were always jealous when coming to Ramstein lol.. It's night and day the conditions that you guys have versus the army. I really miss the nice locals and discipline drivers the most. Good luck when you return lol, it took me a while to adjust back to the "American" driving style.
