Hi guys, I've owned my F for almost a year now and have not driven it much. I'm still trying to find out when it automatically blips the throttle/rev match. I've only experienced it a couple times maybe and really cannot tell what the conditions need to be for it to do it, and I don't remember whether it was in Auto or manual mode. I am assuming it will do it in auto mode of course. I drove today and was trying to make it rev match and it won't happen. How can I purposely make it happen? Thanks guys.

It only works in manual mode. There's no reason to blip the throttle when the torque converter is unlocked.

above 3600 in manual mode for the best rev matched downshifts. 3rd to 2nd butter zone is 4000-4400 rpm.

Downshift from 6th to 5th is consistently awesome, too. Just be at or above 3500 or so and enjoy

It's best from 5th to 3rd between turn 10 and turn 11 at Carolina Motorsports Park. AMHIK.

prob stupid question, but can you explain what situations unlock the torque converter?

Most of the time when you are in D or S mode. They use a technology they call Flex Lock and spend about 10 pages in the New Car Features manual explaining how it works.

Is it possible to over rev the engine in manual mode? I know there's a limiter, which works during up shifts, but what happens when you're going at a high speed and try to downshift?

yup... they design that protection into it. I have to admit that I put it in manual sometimes because I love the rev match blip and how the cars feels sharp and ready to go

I have owned my ISF for close to 6 months and I have to admit that I had not played around with manual mode or the paddle shifters much...I just didn't see the need???

THEN I installed Sikky headers and Joe Z exhaust and found that with the manual mode I can make this exhaust system "sing" by keeping the revs where I like. I will still throw it over to "D" on the highway so the cruise will work but it is really fun to pull it back over to "M" mode and here the throttle blip as I down shift at speed and then accelearte hard making the exhaust sound...well...friggin AWESOME!!! LMAO!!!

I'm shocked that there are members here who haven't used manual mode for months.....for me its pretty much always on manual
