Advantages - Looks better and widens overall track of the car.

Disadvantages - increases the potential for wheels studs to break off and make you crash.

Hmmm To crash or not to crash...that is the question.

Exactly!

Seriously though, lots (and lots) of guys run them without any problem...but there are one or two who have (almost) lost a wheel. I love the look, but I am hesitant to do it.

If they are not correcting an improper offset (read running spacers with the stock wheels), you'll also shorten your wheel bearing life - the bigger the difference from stock, the shorter the bearings will last. If you don't keep your cars long, you'll probably never have a problem, but the next owner might.

Just stay away from adaptors and you will be fine.
I love my H&Rs. 15mm all around.

I have never used spacers before on any car but have been considering trying them because the offset on the wheels is a little weak. Especially in the rear. I dont want to do after market wheels ( at least not yet ) because I want a performance car to remain exactly that. Increase in unsprung weight only slows you down. Id like to take what the engineers at Lexus gave me and just make it look a little more aggressive. I think I may try the wider tires first and then consider the spacers. In the end the main thing thats not dialed in on the ISF is the handling . There is too much mid corner and corner exit understeer . I am on am on a mission to remedy this. Wider tires and F sport rear sway bar will get it done. Spacers are cosmetic only

Good point...would running wheels with aggressive offsets (ex; 19x9.5 +38...on the rear) cause the same problem?

As with any mod suggestion, I have to consider the following: My car was intensively tested in the F skunkworks and on the Fuji track for years before it was put in production. There is no part of the car that was added as an afterthought. This mod may make the car A-look better, B-sound better, C-go faster, but how does it affect the overall system, and was it considered and dismissed for some reason I'll never know?

i run spacers on my race car
and run aroun 15mm or so
custom slip on spacers that have been machined specificly to fit the bore of the wheel and the hub
no problems at all
when its done right there are no real disadvantages
