Default Brake noise question

I have noticed that I get an intermittent brake noise when coming to a stop. Its the normal high pitched squeal that we hear from cars from time to time. Question is , is this normal? I know the brakes are high performance and I have friends with GTRs who say its expected with these higher end braking systems. Not sure. Is it normal? What is the remedy if there is one?

Thanks

does it happen all the time or only when the brakes are cold.

My AMG squeals every now and again when the rotors are cold. also the initial bite is less pronounced as well. It goes away when the brakes heat up.

It's normal. I panicked when I first got my F and thought something was wrong. It's highly annoying at stop lights and signs, but I don't even notice it anymore.

Some people switch pads/rotors and have luck reducing the noise and dust amount

Like others on the forum, I also get it intermittently since I got the F new about a year and a half ago. I always got it with my STi from new as well and it had Brembo pads and rotors too. Switched to different pads on the STi when I needed new ones and it stopped. I assume the same when I need my first brake job on the F.

Yes, it does seem to happen more often when it is cold. I never heard any noise from mine until Fall/Winter.

Very normal for Brembo brakes. My Subaru STi used to do the same thing.

I clean my wheels brakes with Poorboy's PH balanced wheel cleaner and teflon brushes that go inside the wheel and allow cleaning of the caliper. This keeps everything clean and noise free for quite a while.

* Note: some people switch to ceramic pads to get rid of the noise, but those pads will not "bite" as hard.

I had my rear pads changed out at the dealer for free with a TSB/TSIB, wish there is one for the fronts...

it seems like its coming from the rear and yes its only when the rotors are cold, and yes I did notice the reduced bite when the brakes are ice cold. Thanks for the replies guys
