Was heading to my friend's body shop yesterday for our usual car talk and him drooling over my car day when I got a text I never thought I would get. My friend John had collapsed at his shop and passed away just a few hours earlier. John was the guy that never let me pay for anything with my car. He used to laugh at me cause I was always so **** about every tiny chip or scratch and just tell me to bring it in and he would take care of it. He was an old school muscle car guy but really took to my F telling his employees the "Lexus with the bad adittude" is hear when he would hear me pull up. After driving my car a few times he told me he was gonna have to get one even if he would be sleeping in it once his wife found out. John was only 53 and went way too soon. Here is to u my friend, wish I could have had a last ride in my F with u.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your friend,
I lost one of my closest friends about a year ago and can tell you I miss him everyday.
He could talk cars for hours.

Sorry to hear... In '09, My Dad died of cancer just a few months before his 60th birthday. Before he got sick, he lived a pretty healthy lifestyle for someone in his 50s (physically fit, non-smoker), so his illness & eventual death was definitely a shock for us. That changed me forever. I try to enjoy myself as much as possible and do the fun things I want to ASAP rather than putting them off till later in life. My wife is the opposite and if she had her way, we'd save every dime not spent on essentials. F that!

Of course, I try to remain responsible by saving for retirement, etc, but I also strive to keep a good balance of living in the moment & planning for the future. As they say, life is too short & YOLO.
