Is anyone suffering from this? Only the fronts.

Mine's a 2009 with 50,000 kms. Car is not daily driven and washed every week. Rims are done every 2 weeks. As you can see from the pics it is now due for a rim clean.

happened to me but not quite as bad. i bought some black caliper paint at the auto store and used a small paint brush. it came out pretty good and you wouldn't know it was there unless i told you. The part with the sticker looks a bit tricky though. Probably better off taking them off and powder coating them

Its the clearcoat and can start peeling virtually any time based on heat cycles, chemicals and environmental conditions. The best $200 I spent was having my calipers professionally painted and high temp cleared.

Noticed this on mine. Tried to get them sorted under warranty, they offered partial payment but it was VERY expensive.

I am having them stripped and resprayed by a paint shop. using heat resistant paint. Will cost me jusat under £400 but worth it to have a proper job done imo.

Perhaps what you're cleaning the wheels with is too corrosive to the paint on the calipers?

How did you get the bridge bolt out without screwing up the paint job? Or do you plan on removing the calipers to change the pads?

I asked for the bridge bolt to be painted as I never remove it when changing pads. Figured I could always strip the paint and polish the bolt if push came to shove and I needed it out in the future.

I got quoted by the dealership $2,500 (Aus dollars) to strip all 4 out and repaint in LFA orange. However, the Lexus words are actually painted on and not a decal so it will be extra. Might have to consider a high temp brembo decal instead.

Lexus are looking at a warranty claim at the moment because I brought this up before it got so bad during the warranty period. Even a partial claim would be helpful. My dealership is pretty good so fingers crossed.

Even if they don't come through I can understand why this is not a warranty item. However, I kinda expected it to last longer. My Porsche had the same issue but that's after 10 years and 100,000kms.

If warranty doesn't cover it then either get them powder coated or try the G2 paint kit.. Its Epoxy so should hold up pretty well in climate and cleaning changes

Mine are peeling, and I'm about to use VHT high temp clear to fix it up.

I plan on using 600-1000 grid to smooth the area's that haven't peeled, and clean up some of the exposed paint, then spray them with the VHT high temp clear.. I'll see how it works out and post some pics. Otherwise, I'll have them stripped and powder coated and rebuilt.
