IS-F vs RC-F

RCF will weight at near 4,000 lbs after set and done. This is a scary boat to move around. A new upgrade power/weight replacement of the old SC430 cruiser. I looked at the RCF test run video at the Ring, car look so heavy thru each corner like runner can't lift the feet. Diffinitely, RCF won't be agile, nimble, performance driver car but a luxury coupe. I rather have the ISF version as more practical 4 door luxury than a 2 door luxury.

I doubt it will be scary, but it is definitely disappointing. If I wanted a 4000 lb car to play Schumacher at the track I'd get a GTR and not look back at all. I'm sure the RCF will be impressive, but not sure it will be nearly as impressive as if it weighed in 400 lbs less.
People will cross shop the RCF with the GTR. It won't be hard to figure out where the best use of your money is if you're looking for mechanical performance.

The RCF should be aiming at the M4, but it seems like it's aiming more at the S5 or maybe even the M6. It would be hard for me to imagine someone who is seriously considering a GTR to opt for an RCF instead.

In my opinion at nearly 4000 lb nearest rival is the c63 P31AMG 481 HP 443TQ. RCF looks to be heavier than both the sedan and Coupe C63. RCF will probably have very similar performs numbers to the c63 p31 AMG. To me RS5, C63 are closer to RC-F when you compare weight, hp,tq more of GT Coupe then lighter weight M4.

I chose a 2011 IS F over the RC F. I was ready for a vehicle change now, and I like the price better than the ~$70K I'm expecting the RC F to come in at. I may look at a used RC F in 3 years or so, after they have some miles on them. As far as the C7 goes, I really wanted to to like it, but it looks like preserving the "old" GM vs a re-organization was another huge federal mistake. It's a shame GM screwed up such an opportunity with the C7-so much anticipation for the car. After reading this 47 page nightmare thread, there's no way I'd pay for these headaches:
