Aero Function ISF front lip review
09' F currently with carbon fiber front splitters. Recently ordered a carbon fiber rear deck spoiler (sewell Lexus, OEM) and was looking for a nice carbon fiber front lip spoiler to compliment the rear deck spoiler.
I chose the aero function unit as I wanted something decent but not all out and the aero function was reasonably priced and quality appeared to be good. Took delivery of it last Thursday.
Lip was well packaged, took me about 5 minutes to unbox.
Quality however, just isn't there. Upon inspecting there were several small defects of the molding process. Defects where they apply the carbon fiber to the plastic they use. This model is what they call the carbon fiber plastic (CFP).
It quickly reminded me of the poor quality body kits used in the 90's on hondas and I initial thoughts were really..$500 for this. Am I really going to install this on my F? I'd bet this thing would crack in half if I accidently pulled up too close to a curb.
No hardware or install instructions included. Aero Function recommends having a body shop install. If I had kept it, I would've used screws, washers and 3M silicon glue used for windshields.
I opted to return due to quality alone and eat the return shipping cost. I have no beef with the reseller. Purchased through ebay and the seller was quick to ship and provide an RA number for the return.
I'm a firm believer of you get what you pay for and thought $500 is reasonably priced for a decent quality carbon fiber / carbon fiber like front lip. Not bashing aero function on their product and to some this may be acceptable quality for the money, to be installed on their F. Maybe my expectations are a little high but I can't recommend this lip on any F. Maybe a converted 250/350 to F with other questionable body parts but IMHO, installing this lip on an F should be a crime.
This post is intended to help others that might be considering the aero function lip. Will be looking at the more popular / better rep front lips on the market and will just have to front the high cost if I decide a front lip is a necessity.

Thanks for the review, I'm deciding on whether to add a lip to my car, I just installed my carbon fiber trunk spoiler and was thinking a lip would look cool to balance it out. That lip u bought looks like a joke, wish there was a quality $500 lip out there but I guess there isn't
