Reviews on Optimas have been scattered lately..
I was looking at the red top until I came across Duralast Platinum: higher cranking amps and a longer reserve capacity than the Optima and cheaper too.
It will probably be my next battery.
Or a $600 lightweight Braille battery

Factory batteries in a new Lexus are only covered under the factory 4 year/50,000mile warranty. I bought my 08 F certified preowned and it's battery was replaced 2 months before I bought it. The battery just died and had a Lexus battery in it that had a 84 month warranty, much to my disappointment full replacement is only in the first 2 years (just missed full replacement by 3 months) after that it goes to a 50/50. That meant spending $60.00 for a new Lexus (made by Interstate) battery instead of the 150 the service advisor said it would be. Had it been any more than this I too would have been looking at after market options.

Red top Optima in mine last month. It was 2 months short of 60 months in service. Not worth considering warranty at all.

incorrect, your electrical system only pulls as much as it needs. Battery capacity doesnt force more current in the system. If youre battery is 700 CCA and the starter needs 600, it will only pull 600.
