ok so your car made a pop sound OP? So what else happened did something break did it shut down did it crash and catch on fire? If it was just a pop sound its your exhaust your car wont let you down shift if your in too high of an rpm zone its all computer managed not sure what you are worried about?

Obviously we all know the car will prevent you from blowing the thing up, but why would u drop to 3rd at 80mph. That was my point. 4th gear is plenty. Dropping to 3rd at 80mph is hard on all components. You clowns with the gif's aren't even remotely funny but nice try!

like i said，usually i lower to 4th，but accidentally got onto 3rd...
but still thx for all the answers ，and yes the car is totally fine. i guess ima keep on abusing it till warrenty ends then trade in for a c63 ：(

I dont know what your pop sound could be. But I'm totally stock and it pops/backfires from 3rd to 2nd gear shift after driving it hard. But mine is a good sound...menacing.

See if you are able to get a sound clip....probably hard. But you should be able to tell right away if its sound you shouldn't be hearing, if that makes sense?
