Default Opinion for trading price of my ISF

I have 2012 USB ISF with Nav, ML, pre crash system,
MSRP$68200. I only drive less than 2 year with 11000 miles, car is excellent condition, not even a scratch. For family reason, I need a SUV soon, so I decide to go with 2014 Acura MDX. I come into three Acura dealership to see my car trade in value. The highest one I can get is only $47000, two of those offer me $45500. Is that really price what my car only can get?

When I was trading in my 08 F, Lexus dealer have me highest trade price which makes sense. Acura dealer can't sell car as a CPO which is a big factor in price and they prob don't get a lot of calls for a car like ours. Lexus dealer gave me $35k for my 08 and I think they sold it for less than $38k so not a huge markup for the them. Ur car would prob be listed for $53-$54k at a Lexus dealer and they would prob take the first $52k that walked in the door. Also depends on ur area, some markets the F is very hot and others they just sit at dealers for months. This is all just my opinion, others may tell u different but I don't think u will get more than $48k from any dealer for ur car even at a Lexus dealer.

^I agree with him

But I also checked KBB since my car is exactly the same as yours a 2012 with the same options and it came out to 52.8k for excellent condition, 50.2k for good and 45.6k for fair for trade in. If you don't want to get fleeced by the dealer you can sell it private party. A few base model 2012 ISFs in my area with 15-20k mi. are selling for ~53k. Good luck!

If you get a 2014 MDX awd advanced package it's more than 57k + tax so if your F is only 47k you have to pay about 13k to get a MDX , why don't you use that amount plus some extra grand to buy a used SUV and keep your F,IMO. Good luck !

I will buy the MDX with TECH and Entertainment system, which MSRP 51800. One of the dealership offer me $48000 but the trade in value only give me $47000, that's why i think about it.

Damn, if I had known or if you were in the market of selling this a month or two back... I would have bought it from you for $48,750 cash!

Yeah - definitely try to sell it yourself instead of trading.

I imagine you would get around $52-53K.

47-48 seems low. Hell 08-09 are going upper 30's with higher miles. I would say 48k would be auction price and trade should be 50K at a lexus dealer..

I think you could get 54K for it in a private sale. Put it on Autotrader and see who bites.

The thing is, with a $48k trade-in, your sales tax savings on the Acura will even you out. Where I am, that'd save you $4k in sales tax.. puts you right at $52k.

2012 ISF trade for $48,000? Man, they are RIPPING YOU OFF.

Sell the car privatly.

Any dealer will do this and take the profits when they flip the car for 55,000.

Unless you're really desperate or in a hurry, sell it privately.

If you guys think that's bad, the local dealer wanted to take my car for $43,000. 2012 w/ 4,8XX miles, and no luck with private selling either. Its tough trying to sell a performance vehicle that most cant afford. GL to the OP and hopefully everything works out for you bro!
