08 w/20" rims - couple questions
Picked up my 2008 yesterday. It has 20" InCurve IC-S5's, which look amazing. I was curious about a couple things...
Any ideas how much this will affect the speedometer and tach? I have a speedo app for my phone, but just curious.
There is a slight rub at very low speed when I turn into driveways. How concerned should I be about potential damage to the car? It's a little concerning, and I am wondering if it will be fine, or if I should swap for stock rims/tires.
Thanks in advance for any input!

put it simply, you bought wheels that don't fit.
unfortunately, with the isf, the only way to do it right is to get custom spec wheels (e.g. HRE, Forgeline, work, fikse, formula43, etc)

Thanks you guys...
I bought it Thursday and it already had these wheels...
How can I tell whether the fenders are rolled or shaved? Should I just jack up the front tires and poke my head around for wear?
Again, thank you very much for your input. I really would like to be sure there won't be significant damage from these in the long run.

Look like your F have already lowered in the front, that's why it get slightly rubbed when you turn. What is your tires specs now ? So let's talk about speedo.
The wheels look very nice with the F color, don' t put the stock wheel back.

I love the way they look, and I can't see any wear on the fender/wheel wells or the tires themselves.
So it looks lowered in the front to you?
Thank you!

Check your springs and struts. See if aftermarket.

Do you think the change in tire size may alleviate the rubbing sound altogether?

Thank you again for all your advice and input. It is greatly appreciated.
I went to a wedding about an hour from my house today, so I got to spend a lot of time in the car for the first time. The rubbing or friction noise I hear and maybe feel is coming from the rears, and maybe not at all from the front tires. It seems to happen when the wheels are turned at low speeds and there is a bumpy patch, or an elevation change like a driveway.
Also I think I hear the same sound when the car bounces on an uneven patch of highway. Again, I believe it is from the rears.
It makes sense to me that the difference in tire size is eliminating ground clearance, but I am not sure why turning at low speeds would be related to the same rear tire issue. It even happens when I back out of my driveway and turn my wheels in reverse at 2 or 3 mph. My driveway isnt a significant change in grade/slope at all, and I think the noise occurs even after clearing the driveway and I'm turning in reverse while on the street just before completely stopping and shifting into drive/1st.

^^^^Because your tire/wheel combo is 1" larger in OD, you don't have less ground clearance, you actually should have more. But, your wheels wells were not designed for a wheel/tire combo larger in diameter than stock. And, for the record, I am not a proponent of what you have done

Just trying to gather information from experts on the subject. Bought the car Thursday, and came with this setup. Wasn't a choice, and hopefully I can identify a valid solution.
