Default Carbotech bobcat pads

Does anyone else have carbotech bobcat pads on their F? I put them on my F a few weeks ago and they have great initial bite but fade off pretty bad on hard braking. Before its asked they were properly bedded in. 3-4 stops from 60-20 and 3 stops from 100 to 10. I've had a few other people drive my car and they all say the same thing. I don't think I could lock my brakes or even get and to kick on which is worrying if I ever had to.

I ran Bobcats for awhile and did not have this issue at all. I had an uneven wear issue that forced me to remove them. I have not run them since.

Mine have less initial bite than the factory pads, but overall they are easier to modulate and operate consistently and reliably. They also provide enough force to engage ABS.

One point of note, is that they don't cover as much of my current rotor vs when I was stock.

Hey there,

So I completely believe what you are stating. For the 6 years we have been using Carbotechs on street and track with our customers I did not come across what you are describing until just this year... Same problem as your description, bite fell off quickly and the driver didn't feel he could stop quickly enough in an emergency situation. The customer had bought 1521 for his S2000 and his daily driver which was a Porsche Cayenne Base Model. Although the customer swears he bedded in the pads correctly, he has put on 10k miles with no improvement in the performance. I went out to the customer to meet with him and test drive the car (Porsche Cayenne Base Model was having the problems, while the S2000 was fine) and he was dead on. I could not engage ABS and the stopping distance had increased significantly. We are currently getting him a set of StopTech Street Performance pads at no cost so we can grab these and check the pad surface to determine what is going on.

I'll keep you posted.
