Default KWv3 Coilover general question

Hi guys.

For those who want to upgrade their suspension on the F (2008 models, in my instance), are the kwv3 coilovers virtually plug and play? I have zero to none expertise in suspension: are any more components required/needed to get the most out of the coilovers, e.g., top hats?

as always, thank you

I would like to know, what is the height of the KWs, right out of the box ( vs stock height)?

KWs use your stock top hats that have to be drilled out a little, very easy. And they aren't much lower than stock right out of the box..

Ohlins go for over $3000, KW for $2000-$2500, and BCR for $1000-$1300...
Through some searching I found that KW offers the best ride for the F (for at least an acceptable price).

I have KW's it really changes the ride on my 08. I wish they had the ohlins already available before. I would have got it instead of the KW. Dont get me wrong KW is great. I dont think I will go with BC.

KW were by far the most difficult set of suspension I had to install on my car, but well worth it. The top hats for the front suspension will need to be cut up... not as straightforward as CalitriSC suggests.. you'll need to have the right tools (a cutting wheels and grinder).

I don't underestand that price hike though.... I bought mine about a year ago for $2,000 shipped! Honestly, if they cost $2,900 + shipping I would just get BC racing... great stuff for DD.

Yes that^

I'm still undecided with which route to take on a coilover setup.
Does anybody have any comments/comparisons between the kw v3 and bc raxing coilovers? Asking for differences in functionality.

I don't know why anyone would pay $2900 lol. I got mine for $1900 shipped from a vender on here. Retail is $2500 on them. And modding the top hats literally took like 10 minutes. The install was easy. Putting BCs on my SC was more of a pain.

The KW went up in price, but now they come with top hats. No need to modify. Send A pm to CM and they can give you a good deal.
