Default Nitto Motivos for the F

Anyone running these super awesome tread-wear tires?

I just pulled the trigger for a set, right about a grand with replacement certificates.

That is a high tread wear rating.

My Conti DWS have treadwear of 540, up there with Nitto Motivo. All seasons are great in the rain (don't drive in snow) and pretty good grip in the dry. Handling isn't nearly as good as summer perf tires obviously but gets the job done.

Tread wear ratings can't be compared between tire manufactures. I have Bridgestone RE11s which Bridgestone rates as a 180 tread wear. I get about 30-35k on my rear tires, and about 40k on the front tires.

Not every manufacture uses the standard for testing.

From what I found, Hankook and Nitto have these super high tread wear ratings...but their tires kinda don't last. My last sit of Nittos was NT555 and I think it has a tread wear rating of 300 and only lasted 20k miles.

You should buy some RE11s on sale at TireRack right now if there are any left. 100x better than those Nittos and they're only $199 a piece for stock rear sizes.

I've never had good luck with Nitto tires...they wear too fast.

I don't drive aggressively, so the tires are great. They are all-seasons, so the summer/dry performance won't match the RE11s JUST F ME is advocating. I would imagine that they would perform better in wet scenarios though, so consider that a trade-off.

They do slip easier than my last set of Potenzas. They don't roar at highway speeds, and sidewall does seem a bit soft compared to the Potenzas.

I'd say if you want dry performance and grip, the RE11s are the best choice.

I chose the Motivos for daily driving duty - all-season performance, and high tread-wear rating. I was promised 60k miles with their warranty. Let's see?

Maybe it's because of the geographic where I live, but I rather put ultra high performance tires on an ultra high performance car. Put all seasons on your Toyota Camry...not on the IS F

can't really do much spirited driving in los angeles...

if I do somehow find the time to track it, i would have a secondary set of wheels/tires.

but working full-time, school 3/4 time... just no time!

also if the IS-F is considered an "ultra-high performance" car, what category do real performance cars fall in?
