Indeed they did. I am a bit disappointed especially after driving for a couple of weeks now. The distinctive sound of the HKS system is significantly reduced. I am thinking of adding a couple of resonators in the 2.5" sections of the mid-pipe or maybe even high flow cats to see if that will do the trick. Open to suggestions here...

Did CIN have any trouble with the wiring/conditioner?

Not a bit. Chad said there were some issues with the instructions but they figured it out. Very clean install with no issues or CELs going on 3 weeks now.

Thanks! Actually heading back to the shop next week to add a couple of resonators - trying to bring back some of that sweet HKS music...

Sorry I don't have any clips of the axle back only. It will give you a different note on the exhaust - higher pitched and more "metallic" if that makes sense, but it is fairly quiet. WOT makes some noise but I it's actually quieter than stock during normal driving. Definitely quieter in the cabin. IMO it's awesome with a catless mid-pipe. The mid-pipe has been discontinued by HKS but any reputable shop can build one that is very similar.

Note - if you add headers be aware that it will completely change the sound of the HKS system. I decided to go back and add some resonators in the mid-pipe to get the pitch / tone back in line.

I am not out for power I am 100% out for sound, So in you opinion the HKS exhaust with catless mid pipe is the best ay to go?

I know it's an old thread, but is there somebody who's got video/audio clip of HKS SSM axle-back alone?

Get headers too. I just got PPE's installed & it made my Borla louder (sounds way better now). I think you'll find it to be perfectly enough. Especially if you have a custom mid pipe with high flow secondary cats.

Thanks for posting!
How does it compare with stock at full acceleration / high revs? Is it louder then?

its a bit louder at full accel / higher revs but during normal driving and cruising its quieter than the standard axle back.

it actually does sound really damn good I had all 4 windows down the other day and hit it a bit and was very impressed but it just needs a bit more volume to really bring the sound out (hence looking at mid)

very nice Jason re PPE.. tempting.. one day

I have the ssm mid pipe with resonator removed and can attest it's plenty loud at wot. You'll like it!
