Default Brake Pads - Project Mu's or Stoptech

I have read one glowing review on the stoptechs and many recommendations on the Project Mu's. There really wasn't a comparison b/t the two or pros and cons of each. Anyone have any input on these different pads?

From what I've read or assume...
Project Mu's > Stoptech - braking performance
Project Mu's > Stoptech - in dusting
Stoptech > Project Mu's - Costs. Less than 1/3 the price...
Stoptech close to spec, dust less, but still perform great?

Thanks...

I have Stoptech pads in the Front. Love the pads. 30 % less dust than OEM, I like the performance of the pad.
I was also considering the ProjectMu pads. Chose Stoptech after I read all the great reviews. You can get the front pair for $85 shipped.......third of the price tag of the ProjectMu pads. Also, I did not want the goofy turquoise sticking out on my black calipers. It would look stupid on my MRM.

so there's no notable change in braking from OEM? Do they seem to have the same life of the OEM ones? Any particular reason others are going w/ the Project Mu's when they are sooo much more? Is it for the track? Thanks for the help...

I also have the stoptech pads

less dust then OEM and i did not notice any changes in braking performance, priced really well

Project Mu, i believe is even less dust but performance is slightly under OEM. they cost a lot for pads

I like my stoptech pads but they dont have the same bite as stock (obviously because it dusts less). I might try Duralast pads next since they have lifetime warranty and have a similar bite to stoptech.

Yep, if your in for price than StopTech it is. If your in for the Project Mu the price would be $220 at Speed-Freaks. Personally I luv my Ferodo DS2500 also available at Speed-Freaks. And yes, the Project Mu or Ferodo are more track oriented that the StopTech and will take more abuse without glazing.

Yep, you're right. IMHO, the Ferodos bite sooner and have better feel than the OEM. It's hard to explain, but for me, I can modulate the Ferodo's better than the OEM. I know this is all personal preference, but for me a track oriented pad just feels better, works better and gives me more confidence when braking aggressively. For me, it's not about the money or the dust, it's about the overall performance. The F is an aggressive machine, and I want to keep it that way.
