Are there any lowering springs that match the spring rates of the OEM setup? (specifically, 2011 OEM)

Default Cutting Springs

Hey there, old post but I'm interested in the topic.

So why not cut the springs down? Many people have cut springs with a torch on hotrods etc. Thats an extra $200 saved.

??

In my decades of tuning I have NEVER heard of anyone lowering half the car.... until I came to the ISF forum. Sounds like people are happy but I can only imagine what an engineer would say. I wouldn't do it personally but it does look good.

An engineer would say if you know what you are doing, cutting springs works just fine. Unfortunately most owners have no idea what they are doing.

I hesitantly did swifts in the front only. I have not noticed any difference in the handling characteristics although i am sure any deficiencies would be more apparent at the track.

Stance looks perfect (for me) and ride is a little harsher..but not much.

I've been modding cars since the late 90s and I had never heard of putting springs on just the front either, but after coming to this forum and seeing so many other people doing it, I decided to give it a try. It's been almost a year and a half that I've had this setup (Swift springs on the front only) and I can definitely say I'm happy with it. I did not notice a more bouncy or harsh ride, and it took away that annoying wheel gap to make the car look a lot better and more even. I'm still happy with my decision.

^ +1 for me. I have been modding since the 90's too..first time I have done front only springs - the results were exactly what I was looking for.

Don't think you can buy just the fronts...unless another member is selling them...

Here's my car with Swifts in the front only...

BCR racing coilover both front and rear but lower the front by exactly 1/2 inches only. Only big problem is wheel well and tires make an awful noise when I hit moderate to large holes or bumps.

After starting this thread and seeing the feedback, I went ahead and did it. Almost 2 years later, I'm still happy with my decision to do the Swift springs in the front only. I've noticed zero degradation in my ride quality (admittedly, I don't track) and the look is so much better. My car now has an even wheel gap all the way around and looks like i'd hoped it would have come from the factory.

I'm pleased with my decision to lower the front only.
