I keep my Valentine "concealed" display right near the "lexus" in the windshield near the A pillar..its all hardwired and works perfect.

It's not really a "problem", it's just some of the law enforcement community views radar detector users as habitual speeders, and that's just not true at all.

As a result of their views, if they stop you and see or hear the radar detector, they are more likely to cite you, so I'd rather keep it on the downlow by employing a concealed setup.

Probably like this

Ashtray is better suited to the remote volume controller than the display:

Hide the main unit on rear deck:

wow thanks for the pics...looks pretty damn stealthy and clean... with the unit being in the rear, do you think it affects the radar detection at all?

The main unit should be mounted as high as possible. (radio waves travel upwards)

Very nice install with the remote volume.

Bottom left corner, not the top left corner.

Makes it easier to see when driving.

s4play your install looks perfect - something I'd do - i actually hate the v1 hanging from my rearview. what is the 'main unit' on the rear deck, it looks like a box and nothing like any V1 i have ever seen ?! I can't say that I know all of their accessories, but now that I see the volume **** .. I want one. I even tried checking their product page for something that looks like your main unit, and have no idea what that is back there.

Got my setup done last night. Same as the last car:

Custom kill switch:

Concealed display, so nobody else can see the alerts. Notice that it does not block any of the gauges and also there is enough play in the cable, so it does not interrupt with adjusting the steering column.

Main unit sitting up high for the best radar reception, also very hard to see from the outside.
