Default VSC Light after installing HPS tube & AFE wet filter

I installed the HPS intake in my 08 isf a week prior to swapping the air filter. After 3 days running both? on my way in to work the vsc and check engine came on. I tried the reset (holding vsc and pushing the start button twice w/o the brake). But no help. I will replace back to stock and let you know after. Any ideas on what may be causing this? I read something about the oil from the wet filter possibly causing problems with the maf?

Yes my guess is that it is the oil clogging up the MAF. If i were you I would keep the HPS pipe, clean the MAF sensor, and get a non oiled filter.

I would also check the permanent filter media/ restrictor baffle thing inside of the housing and ensure it did not soak up oil as well.

From what I read, I thought was supposed to be the best combo, Looks like I will need to go dry. Any idea on how to clean oil off the permanent media filter baffle thing? Shame on me, I thought everybody said go wet?

I've had the Joe Z intake and the aFe dry filter for several miles. Now I have an HPS intake with the same aFe filter. No problems whatsoever!

Oiled filters may have been advertised to offer better performance, but with it being in close proximity to the MAF sensor it would probably cause problems if oil is flung into it.

Someone here conducted a test seeing if the air filters made any difference in the performance of the F. He ran with a filter and without a filter and found out that he got the same numbers regardless.

Sounds like the oiled filter is the culprit, I'll give an update after I get done cleaning out the maf and replacing the filter.

Just got some of the crc. Scanned and got running lean code and possible maf code, Thinking its got to be oil on the maf. Thanks for the advice so far guys.
