Default Why won't my car all of a sudden not recognize my fob??

This happened yesterday after I left my key in my car for about 1hr with the door open due to having a conversation with a buddy in a parking lot(standing right outside the car). I got back in the car and the car would not recognize the fob that had never left the vehicle. I thought the battery might have been dead on the fob, but the fob still locks and unlocks the car and I do not get a "low key fob battery" warning when I crank the car. I cranked the car by holding the fob in my hand while pushing the ignition button as the message on the display told me to do.

I got the car back home and went and grabbed my other fob and it is doing the same thing. It locks and unlocks the car no issues, but the car will not recognize it. I have to crank the car the same way I had to crank it with the other fob...hold it in the same hand that I press the ignition with. Is there some kind of immobilizer that was activated? Anyone know whats going on?

Thanks for any help.

Did some reading in my owners manual and it appears there is some kind of immobilized activated due to leaving the key in the car for about an hour. I have yet to figure out how to shut it off.

Replaced my key fob batteries(in both fobs) and now they both work. Odd that they would have no problem locking/unlocking the car and that they both "failed" at exactly the same time when my spare FOB is never used. Whatever, issue resolved.

Thank you for sharing your odd situation.

Note to self, don't leave keys in the car with the door open for an hour.

I haven't had the problem with the starting, but I've had mine stop working when I go to put my hand in the door handle and it won't unlock.
