2012 Shocks and springs on 2008 ISF

Sounds good, now we need a guinea pig to do all that...from what i heard there is no rebound springs built into the rear shocks that greatly aid in comfort.

Default 2013 suspension does fit 2008

Hi all,

First post here from over the pond in UK. But have been following this from the start.

Quick one to say 2013 suspension does fit the 2008.

Need shocks springs and rear bump stops and it just goes in.

Comfort is improved,this was done for the wife factor and it passes. Before she was complaining saying it was uncomfortable for longish journeys in the back, saying it makes her sick. Not anymore.

DIY takes about 6 hours with no air tools.

It's strange because it just feels overall more compliant while being flatter when cornering, just feels more nimble how it should have been.

The jiggliness, rocking isn't there anymore, the shoving out of your seat factor is MUCH reduced. I'm not saying it's not firm anymore it still is but so much better for it. well worth it, feels better to drive all round. will try to get a DIY up and a longer term review.

I'm very much planning to purchase a 2013 suspension and install it on my car before the end of the year.

Is it only the 4 springs, 4 shocks, and 2 bumpstops that I would need? No insulators for the 2012+ springs, correct?

I may end up going this route when my car hits around 50k mark, I have 30k left to go though.

if you are starting with a 2008, there's a lot more that got changed, but if your main concern is ride quality, not mechanical performance, then you'll be good to go with the later model shock assemblies. You would be wise to buy the whole assembly from shock to hat as there are warnings about the later model stuff not fitting earlier models.

If you want the full performance, you need to buy the entire rear subframe with differential. All the bushings got changed, the LCA is a different dimension, and the differential got a Torsen spool along with the new shock and spring assemblies.

Only interested in ride quality here. I'm assuming performance wouldn't be worse, and I don't plan to take it on the track ever.

The poster from the UK said shocks/springs/bump stops were all that was required. Do you have any information on the warnings about stuff not fitting, needing hats, etc.?

Hi all

Just to confirm the 2013 shocks and springs will fit fine onto an 08. You need the shocks, springs and rear bump stops. You just need to transfer the top mounts.

I may be in a position to sell mine soon. after years of modding cars, i thought i could settle down, but the lack of adjustability is killing me

I purchased the 2013 gear from Sewell, should be here next week. I'll give my impressions of the ride quality once it's in, versus the 2008 suspension I have in there now.

Any reason you got the 2013 setup instead of the 2014? Not sure if there is a difference
