I raced one when I was stock he had around 350 whp I beat him,but still be careful with those he could have much more than that,at the end of the day he still hating on your F...I've noticed people with those cars wanna race and beat u to feel a bit better about their p.o.s car....if u were fully bolt on then yea 50-160 he may not even make it to 150

I wouldn't do it because you don't know what he has under his hood...

exactly if he wont let you look under the hood or tell you mods and hes willing to drop $500 then hes got something that will beat the F for sure. The F is fast but when compared to a built subi its not guna beat it.

he shoulda hustled you and started with $100 let you win then do double or nothing then smoke you lol

^ I agree with what everyone is saying about not knowing whats under his hood. STIs can be dangerous to mess with especially if you dont know what he's running... I daily drive my 07' STI with a low 13sec to high 12sec tune, I would know

Just do a friendly race, no cash involved and call it a day. GL and keep us updated with the outcome.

Not being a fanboi, but your poll is "for the win" with no other conditions. If you want to consider all-around attributes, the ISF wins (more reliable, more luxurious, more rare, more features, more comfortable). What does the STI have on you? Probably speed and that's about it.

When I lost to my friend's C5 Vette by half a car length.....I told him this and he couldn't argue with it

Highway pulls are weaksauce. Go to a circle track and do am HPDE get the data tag so you can get your times. That will tell you who the better driver is.

2001 sti, even when modded is not fast at all. 350-400whp on those cars, they dont seem to be fast. 04 + sti with the 2.5 ej25, diff story though.

Im jumping in in this subject im quite an expert on the subaru , and a new comer on the isf , to make story short theres not such thing as an 2001 sti they came to america in 2004 he could have a 2001 wrx with swaped parts of an sti the transmossion on the wrx is the weak link and is very common for subaru owners to swap the wrx tranny to a sti one wich they hold close to 800 whp and the motor is also swapped for a sti one wich is 2.5 l instead of the 2.0 l bothe can produce on a stock block w forged internals and the supporting mods arround 400 to 530 whp , w slevees the power capability is endless , i used to have a wrx with a swap trany and block and all the goodies i laid down on the floor 585 whp on pump gas and my car as i ran it on the street trim made 10.9 @133 mph all day long and here is hot mostly 90's w race fuel and race tine i pit 650 whp and it was good for 10.3 @143 mph and im a crappy driver all this done with dot drag radials so be carefull a mildly moded wrx w 430 whp wich is what almost everybody has rins low 11 and hits 116 mph wich is a slap in the face for a stock isf, 530 whp on a wrx or sti will yield 10 and 123 and 125 mph wich can beat i think or give a great race to the fastest isf ive seen here, a 600 pluss is a no contest for any isf this is from the hole , rolled anything trust me i know ive been dealing woth subarus since they came out

+1 My 04 STI before i sold it made around 450. I got tired of modding and i wanted some luxury. My tuner in TX had an STI who used to beat M5 on the drag strip.

Dont get me wrong i have a isf now and the car is superior than the wrx or sti in almost any aspect but highly modded wrx or sti are not easy pray same goes with the evos until the evo 9 , evo 10 are not the same

Also subarus are forced induction and isf is n/a the cars dont even qualify in the same categories so is not worth the comparission the guy wants to beat you up and them make fun out of you , i switched to isf and one day i found a friend with a supped subaru close to 600 whp and we ran for the fun of it and he beat me silly when we arrive to the place we where heading he was making fun out of me for the race but i told him iknow you are faster than me no doubt bit whos driving a lexus!!!! He said you are right and we laughed

I love Subaru. My daily is an 04 forester xt with an sti conversion. Very fun and quick. It's an awesome sleeper that doesn't attract attention. Subarus have so much more flexibility for modding its rediculious.

hahaha I love it!

I wouldn't do it, who knows what he has under there - it can be tuned up the wazoo!
