Default Fair price? - need urgent input!!

Gentlemen,

Trying to become part of the "Brotherhood" here, close to making a deal with a dealership, trading in my GORGEOUSLY Rare E46 M3 for a 2008 Ultra Sonic Blue IS-F with around 51~K miles, listed at 34,995... It does come with Mark Levinson, I believe...

Trying to get around 20K for my rare Imola/Imola Red M3 (2004) with 85~K miles, the car's listed for $34,995... wondering what I should shoot for, in terms of negotiating the price of the IS-F?

Need your fast input! Thank you!

Just make sure the car is solid and no accident . U cant beat that price even if they dont have Mark Levinson which means no DVD player and up grade Stereo system. Good luck and Welcome

^what blitz said. Just make sure you don't rush your decision and get what you want for both cars. that's a good price for the F.

Good Luck.

Thank you gentlemen. They haven't called me back in over an hour now, so I assume it's bad news bears...

In case things do fly though... what am I checking/looking for when purchasing an 08 IS-F with that kinda mileage?

Thank you again!

I believe '08's had a buzzing mirror issue and water pump issues. Both covered under warranty.

Thanks guys... Now I believe the car is out of warranty already...would these still be covered?

Thanks!

Lobu posted a DIY on the mirror (if it even has the issue). Not sure if Lexus prolonged the coverage on the pump or not, but I'd check under the hood for pink crusted residue on the pump.

Nope but both are fairly easy to fix for someone mechanically inclined

Water pump would be covered under the longer powertrain warranty. 6/70K

That's a great deal, provided it doesn't have any thing wrong with it.

51k miles isn't bad for a lexus. I think around mid to upper 30s is about right, all depending on mileage of course. If you find something with under 20k miles you can expect to pay over $40k even for an '08. Last year I paid nearly $50k for a pristine 09 with 13k miles but that was with an extended warranty and all taxes title registration etc included (out the door). Basically it does kinda all come down to mileage.

That's alreay a great deal. Even better if they can knock $1500 off. I hope you get it tonight or tomorrow.

But again, make sure that the car title isn't salvaged or has not sustained any major accidents.
You can always bring the car to any Lexus Dealer before purchasing it for inspection but you will cover the cost. It should be a little less than $200.

Good luck!
