Feeler - GiroDisc 2 Pc Rotor
Our new Sponsor, http://speed-freaks.net, has asked me to get gauge interest in the GiroDisc 2 Pc Rotor See image below.
The preliminary feeling is that if they get a minimum of Five orders (sets), the cost would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000.00 per axle (Front or Rear, or both). If there were Ten orders (again, an axle is a set) the price would be reduced to $900.00 per axle.
Anyone who places an order would need to post a deposit of $250.00 per axle.
The above is tentative, and if there were interest, Speed Freaks would provide full specifications.

Did they give you an idea of how much it would be to replace the one piece after it is worn out. I dont know what your really call it. The part the brake is applied to.

^^^^It's my understanding that they are lighter and dissipate heat better. The 2-piece style itself is the main reason it is better with heat. Since the center of the rotor (hat) is not one piece with the "ring", heat transfer is not as great. So instead of it being one big chunk of steal that retains the heat built up over time, the outer ring deals with heat maintenance while the inner hat can just do it's job of holding everything together.
The hat is also made from aluminum. Again, lighter, plus aluminum has a better chance of dissipating heat.
And, IMHO, they also look sorta cool

I would be interested in these... was planning on ordering from Figs in the next few weeks, but this could be slightly less in price... what about quality of these VS. the Racing Brake one's Figs is selling? I also wonder about replacement ring cost.....

Aside from the weight advantage, 2 piece rotors allow the rotor ring to expand / contract at a different rate than the hat. This reduces warping, distortion, and cracking when the rotor is subjected to heavy use and big swings in temperature.
Since the rotors run cooler and don't "cone" when they heat up you also get the added benefit of longer pad life and slightly more even pad wear.
