When i first read your post Lobuxracer, I was like surely the vertical roll center migration is not that much, but i reread that suspension design paper on our car. You are right. Based on the figures, it migrates like 3 times the wheel center movement. Although I’d have him chase after a stiffer anti-roll bar, and leave the spring rates alone. That is of course if you buy into the theory of the kinematic roll center, Vehicle Dynamics!!

I like the look BTW. It reminds me of the old BTCC cars of the late 90's early 2000's. Those guys were tucking serious rim.

Stiffer anti-roll just means they should have put a live axle in the car instead of independent suspension. I'm not a big fan of stiff roll bars at all. Spring rates are the first line of defense once you've decided on basic geometry, so I want the springs as stiff as I can get them and still have adequate wheel compliance. Slammed like this car is, it will be on the bumpstops in no time, so even a stiff roll bar will be of little consequence and will only result in wheel dependence, not independence.

IMO Anti-roll has its place, and a stiffer anti-roll would not destroy all independent characteristics of the suspension design. You are right in the extreme cases, but the wheel motion and force vectors that generate the roll attitude of the vehicle would not all the sudden act as a live axle with a stiffer anti roll that adequately compensates for the greater roll moment, Which is what I thought we were talking about.
