maybe i over shot at 5 but its defiantly 4k. when i quoted this job the unit is about 3 now i see its 2500, the new bearings from lex are four hundred and then you have 10-13 hours of labor roughly according to the two shops who quoted me out before i picked up a used torson and depending who does it you have have shipping costs..

Sorry to bump this thread but I would like to double check the 2010+ differential part number.
41110-53291 is the correct part number that also replaced 41110-53290?
Thanks guys

EDIT: if you are just swapping its is possible to reuse the seals. If installing just the diff unit, then new seals are required.

Many of the auto equipped TT MkIVs came with open diffs. We had a big discussion about it on the MkIV email list about 14 years ago or so.
No, the Supra diff won't bolt in without some mods. I put both cars up on stands and ran a tape measure from one to the other and found out the MkIV unit would not work as a straight swap. Besides, the axle mounts are quite different.

And despite all of this, I would swap out the Torsen in my Supra for the OS Giken. It really is that much better.

None. It does introduce a very small whine when on neutral throttle, but if you have music playing you'll never hear it. I only notice it because I don't normally have anything making sound in the car but the car itself.

Newb question regarding the open '08 & '09 to Torsen 10+ differential carrier
A) Is all that is needed is the 2010+ differential carrier to do the swap?
B) Drive shaft is the same? (length, mounting/hardware)
C) Side shafts are reused and fit into the 2010+ differential?
D) Does NOT affect traction control or any electronics?
E) Any pics of the 08 09 open differential carrier vs the '10+ carrier? (would like to know visual differences when going to a wreckers to identify the Torsen)
F) qty 2 new seals and Differential fluid (assuming all that is needed is the '10+ Differential Carrier assembly)
thanks
Toshi
