my point is people already know what an "M" is, even my grandmother - no one has a clue what an "F" is, and if they think they do then they are usually referring to an F Sport - If Lexus wants to sell more IS-F's then they need to make it unique in both performance as well as looks

ISF needs ALL WHEEL DRIVE version and sales would do MUCH better. Folks like us in Denver, Midwest, east coast would not buy an ISF for it to simply sit through winter. Demand would be higher with an AWD like Audi's S-Line and etc.

They would have to compensate in other areas in order to incorporate an AWD system. Audi's S-Line does just fine, here in Denver, where i have a auto dealer, S-Lines outsell non S-Lines believe it or not. There is no way an AWD IS-F Would not sell. The Dodge SRT line does well because it too has a AWD line.

IS-F does not need to be AWD. The IS 250 comes in AWD if people need a winter car. Performance cars are not geared toward using in the snow. Just like people aren't going to buy an M3 or Z06 as an all season car. There are plenty of AWD cars available for that market of people.

they did discontinue the HS and emerge with an ES300H. maybe (if this car show dude isn't FOS) they will bring the F back as a n LF-CC with a slightly different body style and 4 doors. and the ES300H just appeared out of no where right after the HS was discontinued. so F owners might be in for a surprise. i for one would like to see an LF-CC style F with just a few minor styling cues to let people know that it's still an F.

So I was at the Miami International Car show last night and was told by a Lexus spokesperson that the ISF was going be discontinued. In disbelief, I looked around to find no ISF. In not sure if he was full of it or what, but he seemed to have some backing with the fact that no ISF was displayed. We then got into a discussion about the LFA and why so many of them have been sitting in showrooms around miami for this long.... And so I didn't probe more about the ISF.
Has anyone heard any news of this happening? Are ISF sales really low enough for Lexus to want to behead the model? We have plenty of ISFs in my town so I may not notice how rare these cars are.

The best is yet to come. Remember: the F and LFA are the essence of the brand and what all other cars in the lines aspire to.

Ya , after reading the responses I've got a new idea of what the ISF is for the Lexus brand. Main reason that I was worried was the fact that they stopped showing the ISF at the show. Its going to be hard, but I really hope Lexus comes out with a beast for the next gen F. The M and AMG camps have shown their cards, so hopefully Lexus takes advantage if the situation and trumps then both.

Yes I understand, but the 2008 ISF was the first F product ever so the timeline isn't necessarily indicative of what it will be this time. I can understand waiting 1 year to make sure that the performance model is properly built on a new platform, but 2 years would just be bad business.
