Default Tinted windshield

Just got 5% on my 08 and I was going to do my winshield but my tint guy said it may affect the rain sensors, so I figured I'd ask you friendly people. Does Anybody have any knowledge of this or someone with a tinted winshield chime in

Thanks!

Sorry if there is a double post!

I have the entire windshield tinted and there are no issues with rain sensors. Keeps the interior a little cooler when the car sits outside at work all day.

I've never heard of it affecting the rain sensor. It's remarkable how much heat gets rejected while under the sun. 5% on any ride is good protection, even if it probably is illegal. Huper optik comes to mind when doing slight front windshield tint with great protection.

my tint shop told me you can get a "perscription" for windsheild tint if you wear glasses that can get sun reflection and other eye related issues. That specific shop will only tint your front with a note from the doctor however another shop does it cash on the hush which to me means this is highly illegal to do without something from a doctor. Everyone I know that has it has gotten a very light film with high UV protection and cops have never noticed it.

Mine is done as well. I also recomend huper optic for the front windshield. It is a lighter tint, slightly blue and rejects more heat than any other tint. I have my sides done in 15 and the front done with 80.

A "prescription" to correct myopia/hyperopia with a windshield tint? You must be joking...

you basically go into the eye doctor and give him a and he gives you a nod and you walk out with a note saying you can have them tinted way dark.

A lot of people tint the whole windshield here in Vegas. Makes a big difference in the summer.

In nearly all states tinting windsheild is highly illegal, especially with dark tint. But that new 3M clear UV tint is okay to use....but I love taking chances at being illegal!!
