Default Disabling the Seatbealt chime/light

I was reading another thread about aftermarket seats and in one of the posts "Demik" mentioned disabling the chime for the seatbelt when it is not worn. Does anyone know how to do this...???? and replying with "just wear your seatbelt" isn't the answer im looking for

here is the post...

You can use is300 rails they fit. There are an additional 2 mounting holes on the rear 2 seat mounting point area. i like these seats better couse im a little skinny and the f seats are a little wide to me. hope this help. there is a kit or resistor u can buy , just been lazy to get it and the light doesnt bother me.

I've done this and it works

It eliminates the chime; however, the blinking light still shows up on the gauge cluster.

Instructions:
1. turn the key to the ON position which means pressing the start button twice on the new IS since it doesn't has the key, foot off the brake
2. Press the trip reset button couple of times until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B)
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position again press the start button twice. when the dash lights comes on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7.and the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off.

thanks! I just did it and it worked. The hard part is holding down the trip reset button and buckling your seatbelt at the same time lol - you definitely need skills and two arms/hands for that one

thanks for the quick reply and solution!

Did this on my F as well. Hated that annoying chime when your just trying to move the car around your home or in a parking lot. So much better with it quiet!

I'm sure the stock seats weigh a ton with all the electrics and seat heaters etc....
