Default Got black exhaust tips now!

So, I plasti-dipped the bezel surround and all the Lexus emblems yesterday and finally late last night, I did the tips. This was about a 30 minute jobber, but looks great imo. I was concerned with too much heat being there, but I drove the car all day today in 104 degree weather and they still look perfect. I have no mufflers either and the straight pipe points at the lower oval on the tips. Worse case scenario, I can always take it off and redo them if need be, but so far, so good!

Noticed you're from OK! I'm in the Tulsa area. I just did it for the fact that it's so simple and if it gets too hot, I can just peel it off. If it lasts for for several months, I'll just keep redoing it. At $6 a can, I could do them 10 times!

Mine is Smoky Granite Mica. Not that it won't look good, but just won't have the contrast which makes it work IMO.

Yeah I think gloss might look better with that color, but at $6 and 30 minutes, you might give it a shot. I just didn't like the chrome, but at the same time, I hate doing anything permanent.

Looks good. I would also be worried about the heat the exhaust tips take.

There's also a clear glossifier version of Plasti Dip that you spray on cured Plasti Dip. Could go that route so you don't have to have it in matte black.
