Default Exhaust question

Is there supposed to be some sort of gasket in that joint? It seems, I'm getting some squeaking/rattling at that point. If so, anyone have a part number? If, not, I guess I can go to Lexus and check with them.

There should be a donut gasket in between it.

Looks like you are getting some "blowby" judging by the black around the bottom side of that joint. Should be a beveled donut gasket there and tightened up!!!

Thanks! Exactly what I was thinking about the donut gasket. Dumb guy who welded my pipes in must have forgot to put it back in.

Is it rattling over bumps or at idle, and how long after your exhaust mod did this happen? I just got my exhaust done and don't hear anything, but I want to nip it in the bud and make sure I have that donut gasket in there.

Just found out its about a $60 gasket. Picking it up from Lexus tomorrow. I think this was the nemesis of the rattling during a cold start and going over bumps. If not, I'm going to have another metal brace welded at the straight pipes that replaced the mufflers.

Hopefully that should take care of your issues....I'd be sending that guy a bill for that gasket!!! Haha

Do a PN search - $60.00 is too much

Lexus of Tulsa quoted me $67, but I told them Sewell always has the best prices and I was going to check with them. He said he'd match Sewell who was at $58. Best I could find.

CL member price at Sewell is $42.66. I used to have a place a little closer and a little cheaper, but Sewell is beating everyone these days for OEM parts prices.

Lexus of Tulsa won't honor the CL discount.

Got this installed last night and all rattles are gone. Happy camper!
